St. John's Church has been the Episcopal presence in College Park, Georgia since its founding in 1905. From small and humble beginnings, we have grown into a diverse and vibrant congregation centered on worship, formation, and service.

We are a welcoming and affirming community and invite people of all walks of life to be a part of our life together. We work, pray, and give to fulfill our mission of restoring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

While we have been in this place for a long while, we don't have all the answers. That's why we are all on this journey. You are invited to join us as we come to a more full understanding of our mission in this community,

St. John's welcomes you!

June 2021

As of July 4, 2021 we have re-started in person services on Sunday’s   at 10:00 AM

Provisions have been made for those of you that are vaccinated and non-vaccinated.

You may still view our service on our website and Facebook.

Below are the guidelines that will be utilized for our in person regathering.

Re-gathering Guidelines

The guidelines below are based upon guidelines and protocols provided by Bishop Rob Wright, the latest version published on May 24, 2021.

Assumption – If you are unmasked, you are fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated, you will wear a mask. We are going to be operating on the honor system here and you will not be questioned as to your vaccination status. Some may consider it safer for masks to be worn indoors in settings when vaccination status of participants is unknown, thus even if fully vaccinated, individuals may choose to wear a mask.

Seating in our sanctuary will be based on masked and unmasked status. Those parishioners who are wearing masks will be seated on the Pulpit/left side of the church.  Parishioners not wearing masks will be seated on the right or Lectern side of the church.

The maximum number of people may not exceed 30% (75 people) of the church capacity if both masked and unmasked parishioners are present.

People should be seated from the front of the church to the back as they

arrive, and depart from back to front as they leave.

Designate seating or standing spaces with at least six (6) feet apart on all sides between individuals or pods.

Do not seat or position persons directly in front of/behind one another

Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to adhere to the six feet guidelines.

The service duration must be 90 minutes or less, with no lingering inside beyond the 90 minute time limit.

Traffic flow will be one way only, for entrance, exit and going to the altar for communion.

Fully vaccinated choir members may rehearse and sing together unmasked. If there are unvaccinated choir members, only one individual may sing and must wear a mask.

We will celebrate the Eucharist with one element, the wafer. One way traffic patterns will be followed going to and from the altar.

There will be no passing of the offering plate, but we will have a plate on each side of the nave, so individuals may place an offering on the way to communion, if desired. Online giving will still be available.

All printed materials have been removed from the pews. Bulletins will still be available in Eagle Notes, for printing at home. There will be some bulletins available for pick-up for those that do not have access to Eagle Notes. All bulletins should be taken with you as you leave the church.

Only one person at a time may be in a restroom.

No food or beverages may be in the church.

If you should become Covid19 positive within 5 days after attending church, please call the church office, so that appropriate contract tracing may occur.
