We invite you to join us in the various ways we create the Body of Christ in community.
Knowledge Seekers Book Club
Most Wednesday evenings at 5:00 pm, you can find us gathered in the parish hall for an in-depth reading and discussion of a favorite current or classic book. We are currently reading "Flight Path: The Search for Roots Beneath the World's Busiest Airport " by Hannah Palmer. Previous studies have included Before I Forget, Becoming, Learning To Walk In the Dark, Same Kind of Different As Me, A Man Called Ove, and Just Mercy.
On Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:45 pm, we gather in the parish hall for an interactive Bible Study. The group chooses a specific book from the Bible (Old or New Testament) and we spend several weeks at a time on each choice - reading and discussing the text. We are currently engaged in a comprehensive study of the "Acts of the Apostles" - the New Testament's 'history book' of the earliest church communities. No advance preparation is needed and study notes are provided. All are welcome!
Second Sunday Brunch
Most months, we gather after our 10:00 am worship service for a time of fellowship and the sharing of good food. Our "Second Sunday" brunches are well known for the delicious variety of home-cooked foods offered by parishioners. It's always "pot-luck" but it is always wonderful! Come and join us and... bring your appetite!
Each Monday evening, a small group gathers at Kafenio, the local Greek restaurant on Main Street in College Park, for a lively discussion of a selected book that explores spirituality, theology and/or politics. We're currently reading Humility by Andrew Murray, a relatively short publication used in Christian education circles. Come and join us from 6:30pm until 8:00 pm. Order some great food or just get a cup of coffee. We would love to hear your ideas on the subject at hand.
