Mardi Gras Update

To Our Dear & Faithful Mardi Gras Subjects...

The Captain of the Mystic Krewe of Joy an-nounces that he has begun work with the Secret Committee to determine King Joy The Fourth.

Last year, King Stephen Thompson was selected to rule. A relative new-comer to our community, Steve worked diligently with his partner Drew to redo the foyer and raise funds to ac-complish church goals.

Before King Steven, Queen Jane Holloman was crowned Queen of Carnival. Her work with the Bargain Shop and leadership roles brought her the crown.

Our first King was King Bill Hill who was selected for his long service to our church and our community.

Who will the Krewe choose as King or Queen this year? Who will reign with Joy? The  church has much to celebrate and many to honor. It is never an easy task. It is a task taken with serious con-sideration.

The person chosen to rule over us speaks to the best characteristics of church membership: Through Service, Joy.

We hope all of you will join with us to cele-brate Mardi Gras and honor our new King or Queen for their service. Come celebrate the Joy of being a member and friend of Saint Johns’ Episcopal Church.

Tickets are still availa-ble. The dinner includes wine and this year's meal will reflect the French influence in our Mardi Gras celebration!

By Royal Proclamation, the Captain of the Krewe of Joy bids you join His Majesty for an evening of good food, sparkling wine, and consummate Joy this February 9th.A

Royal Entertainment will be provided by Tommie Mason, the Song Bird of the South, a Royal Favorite.

Laissez les bon temps Roulez!!!!!!!!!!

Please join us for our annual Mardi Gras cel-ebration on March 9th from 6:30-10:00pm. Live music, good food, and (of course) a fine Episcopal cocktail hour!
