Bargain Shop

The Bargain Shop, a ministry of St. John's, faithfully provides food and quality clothing, safe housing for low-income seniors, emergency assistance support, and support for foreign educational and medical care by selling modest everyday items:
  • Quality clothing
  • Small household items, such as plates, glasses, small appliances, serving utensils, and toaster ovens.
  • Shoes
  • Books
  • Coats, hats, socks, and gloves
Started in 1952 by the parish's Episcopal Women's Group, the Bargain Shop's modestly priced wares minister to the needs of the people of College Park, East Point, and South Atlanta.

Funds received from the sale of goods are given back to the community in the form of charitable gifts that include:
  • Local feeding programs
  • Hospice care
  • Atlanta missions
  • Emergency assistance
  • Schools and medical facilities in Haiti
The Bargain Shop's greatest asset---its volunteers---are the essential element that keep crucial sources of help for our community functioning.
