UPDATE: The Escalera's have been given a court date of June 13th in Russia to begin the final process of making Yuiry their own. They leave the U.S. on June 7th and will return on June 21. All our prayers have been answered. Thanks be to GOD! We pray for safe travel for all 3 of them. Congratulations and hurry home!
MORE NEWS (6/13/02): This just in, The Escalera's have been approved by the Russian court to adopt Yuri and the 10 day cooling off period was waved!!!!! This means that they will be home with Yuri on June 21st.
6/21/02: The Escalera's all came home tonight from Russia. Yuri is just gorgeous!!!!! They were all very tired but glad to be home! Click on the link above to see some of the latest pictures.

Al and Eleanor Dixon, tied the knot on April 13, 2002. It was a beautiful wedding and a great day for the blessed union of 2 wonderful people.

Concert in the Park (Barrett Park in College Park) - 2002
The annual concert in the park will be on April 27th at 6:30 p.m. Come for the fun, music and fellowship. We will sit together as a group and let all of College Park know about our wonderful community at St. John's. Bring a picnic and your lawn chair. See ya there!!

UPDATE:
It was a mild spring day which made for a great time and the full orchestra was wonderful!! The neighbor turned out in large numbers. People brought their dinner, desserts and drinks. The tables were lit with candles. It was just like a concert at Chastain but was better because it was FREE!!! Click here to see pictures

Youth Event - May 5, 2002 - Click here for pictures
The youth have been invited to take airplane rides with Bill Mercure, our local pilot. We will leave from the church at 12:30 and head to the airfield in Peachtree City. We will grill hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch along with other goodies.

We blessed the parking lot marker on Hardin Ave on Sunday 4/21 after the 10:30 service. We sang and had a small service. This is the spot where the original church was located.

Deacon Ordination for Anne Meroney - Click here to see pictures and read the sermon
On June 8, 2002, Anne Meroney, St. John's seminarian for the past 3 years was ordained as a Deacon at a special service held at St. Philips in Atlanta. It was a very special and moving service with the Bishop of Atlanta as Celebrant and The Rev. Mark Baker from Holy Comforter giving the sermon. Anne is now working at St. Anne's Episcopal Church. Congratulations, Anne!!!!
